InfoSeek - provides free and fee-for-service searches. Free service sources consist of over 40,0000 WWW pages. Other sources include and index of WWW pages, 10,000 USENet newsgroups, 50 computenewspapers and magazines, several newspaper newswires and company profiles. It is considered to be one of the most efficient sources on the Internet.
Lycos Internet Catalogue - considered to be one of the most comprehensive "spider" sites o the web. Searches are made free of charge. This site is affiliated with Carnegie-Mellon University.
Yahoo! - A menu-style directory and comprehensive search engine make this one of the most popular sites on the Internet. Searches are made in only titles and site summary listings so this is not extremely useful to determine site content, but is extremely useful in finding sites pertaining to your area of interest. Developed in Moutian View, California, this site will be partnering with Open Text of Waterloo, Ontario to improve it's search index.
